Founded by Emma Evans in 2008, DANCE BEATS has been inspiring dancers in Crickhowell and the surrounding areas for over 18 years.
We believe dance is about so much more than learning steps. Our classes are designed to help children and young people build confidence, make lasting friendships, stay active, and express themselves through movement in a fun, supportive environment.
Since opening our doors, we have welcomed hundreds of dancers of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to experienced performers. We offer a variety of dance styles, giving every dancer the opportunity to discover what they love while developing technique, creativity, and performance skills.
Whether your child is taking their very first dance class or looking to grow their passion for dance, you'll find a warm, encouraging community where everyone is supported to reach their full potential.

DANCE WITHOUT LIMITS
CLASSES at Dance Beats
Class One (Ages 4–7)
5:00pm – 5:40pm
A fun and energetic introduction to dance for our youngest performers! Children will build confidence, coordination, creativity, and rhythm while exploring a variety of dance styles in a friendly and supportive environment. Perfect for beginners and those who simply love to move.
Class Two (Ages 8–12)
5:45pm – 6:25pm
Designed for growing dancers, this class develops technique, musicality, and performance skills across a variety of dance styles. Dancers are encouraged to build confidence, make new friends, and enjoy learning exciting choreography in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
Class Three (Ages 13–18)
6:30pm – 7:10pm
A dynamic class for teenagers looking to develop their dance skills, fitness, and performance ability. Dancers will explore a range of styles, improve technique, and challenge themselves with engaging choreography while being part of a supportive and inspiring group.
Classes take place every Tuesday (Term time) at the Clarence Hall, Crickhowell, Beaufort Street, NP8 1BN
First Class £5.00 trial- £30.00 every half term payable prior AT the start of term, either via bacs, card or cash.

MEET THE TUTORS
Hello, I'm Emma the founder and principal teacher of Dance Beats, which I established over 18 years ago with a passion for helping children and young people discover the joy of dance, theatre and the performing arts.
After earning my BA (Hons) in Art and Contemporary Dance, I returned to Crickhowell with a vision of creating a dance school where every child, regardless of experience or ability, could feel welcome, build confidence, make lasting friendships and enjoy the excitement of performing on stage.
Since then, Dance Beats has grown into a thriving community, producing original shows including The Poisoned Apple, The Golden Ticket, The Second Star to the Right, Oz and Wonderland. I've also choreographed productions such as Cats, Into the Woods and Disney's The Aristocats, and created routines for performances featuring over 100 dancers.
As a teacher, choreographer and director, I love bringing creative ideas to life while helping every student develop not only their dance technique but also confidence, teamwork and self-belief. Watching children grow from nervous beginners into confident performers is the most rewarding part of what I do.
More than 18 years later, I still feel incredibly fortunate to share my passion for dance and the performing arts with the next generation, creating opportunities for every child to learn, perform and shine.
EMMA
Hi, I’m Millie! I’m 21 years old and have been dancing since I was just three years old. Dance and performing have always been a huge part of my life, and I’ve been lucky enough to teach dance for the last couple of years!
Alongside teaching dance, I work in a day nursery and have recently graduated with a degree in Childhood Studies. Working with children and helping them to grow, learn and develop is a real passion of mine, both within and outside of the performing arts. My ultimate goal is to become a primary school teacher.
My love for performing has also given me the opportunity to take on some amazing roles, including Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Mrs Wormwood in Matilda and Jafar in Aladdin. Performing has helped me to build my confidence, creativity and passion for the stage, and I love being able to share that passion with the children I teach.
Emma has been a huge part of my dance journey, as she taught me how to dance from a young age. It’s so special to now be able to work alongside her at Dance Beats. I love teaching at Dance Beats because Emma gives me the creative freedom to bring my own ideas to life. We constantly bounce off each other, which makes every class exciting and unique.
What I love most about Dance Beats is the safe and welcoming environment it creates for children. It gives them the freedom to express themselves, build confidence and have fun, while also developing professional dance skills.
I feel incredibly lucky to be able to combine my love of performing and dance with my passion for working with children. I can’t wait to continue creating fun, inspiring and memorable experiences for our dancers!

Dance Beats has been absolutely amazing for both of my girls, now aged 16 and 14. They have been attending for over 10 years, and it has given them so much more than just a love of dance-over the years its also been a way to relax, make friends and build confidence.
